High Fashion Didi Pickles?

How much does this photo from one of Carlotta Actis Barone's collection remind you of Didi Pickles from Rugrats?! The first time I saw this picture, without thinking I thought of Didi Pickles.

Halloween Costume Inspiration: Cruella De Vil

Halloween is one of the best holidays, you have an excuse to dress up! Ever since I was little I loved 101 Dalmatians & I would always sing the Cruella De Vil song. I remember one year I dressed up as a dalmatian with a pink nose & luckily Cruella didn't use me in one of her coats! Cruella De Vil is one of the most glamourous Disney villains, she seems like someone that could work in the fashion industry as a designer or she could be an Anna Wintour! Fabulous & headstrong, Cruella De Vil is the perfect Halloween costume inspiration. Seriously. Cruella embodies glamour... giant furry coat, little black dress, red gloves, & turquoise jewelry.

Resembling Cruella is quite easy. Starting with your favorite faux fur or fur coat, that's the main ingredient to this costume. She seems to love her fur, so you need to base the outfit off your favorite fur coat, that's the easiest way to put together this look. Next is whatever you'd like, I would say it should either be the little black dress or the shoes next. From there find pieces that work with the outfit & that you think Cruella would wear trying to steal the puppies & yes I think Miss De Vil would snatch up some puppies in 6 inch heels. If you really want to look like Cruella, here's the perfect makeup tutorial by the wonderful Kandee Johnson who I love & adore(Cruella De Vil Costume Make-Up). Matter of fact...... I was watching Kandee's Cruella De Vil tutorial a week ago & got the inspiration to make a Halloween costume inspiration blog-post inspired by Cruella De Vil in hopes that it with inspire you! It's an inspiration train!
Remember... if she don't scare you, no evil thing will. That means that if you don't scare anyone with you're costume, no evil costume or thing will either?... right... yes???.......

Spotty dogs & red lips!

Cozy Batwings & Crazy Pants

Last night I noticed this girl in my improv class was wearing the coolest outfit with the most fun pants ever! I, myself am a person who likes to wear crazy pants as well. I have crazy pants in a zillion different prints, kind obsessed. Anyway, her out fit is what has inspired this post. Because of that I found some crazy pants, solid color batwing tops & brown combat boots... inspired by her style last night!

This is almost exactly what she wore:

Pale yellow batwing sweater, I didn't ask where she got it from but it looked like it was from American Apparel. Sadly I couldn't find it anywhere online or even a batwing sweater in a pale yellow color, so instead I found a dupe for it from Ebay for $15.68
Since there's leggings in the outfit, you have to find a sweater that is over sized that covers the areas that need to be covered, if you know what I mean ha ha! Find a sweater that is a solid color(so it doesn't clash with the crazy pants). Make sure the color goes well with the colors in the leggings. For example, the NYC leggings have splashes of yellow therefore the sweater can be yellow.

NYC magazine printed leggings, she said she found them on Melrose but I found them on Ebay as well for $15.95!
Printed leggings are the main ingredient, so any printed leggings that you love will do!

Brown combat boots, she was wearing a simple pair of brown combat boots. I found some similar to the ones she was wearing on Modcloth for $62.99
I think that any pair of combat boots will work, as long as they're not crazier than the crazy pants!

You can find all the ingredients for this outfit almost anywhere. Basically every store is selling oversized sweaters & combat boots(it's currently in trend if you haven't noticed yet ha ha!), & you can find crazy print leggings in some stores & online very easily.

Black to Basics

Inspired by this simple & classy all black outfit, I had to find the items that would make this outfit come to life.

For the pullover sweater, I chose this black waffle knit sweater by Proenza Schouler. To recreate the look from the picture, all you need to do it push up the sleeves of the sweater; like how the sleeves are bunched up from the picture. The sweater has the same draped neckline, allowing a bit of collar bone peaking through.
Proenza Schouler Waffle Knit Sweater in black $495.00

For the skirt, I chose this circle skirt in jet black from American Apparel. To recreate the look, tuck in the sweater into the skirt; pulling a bit of the sweater out so that it's not so perfect. I like this skirt because its sharp like the skirt in the picture, it has very crisp points.
American Apparel Natural Denim Circle Skirt in jet black $45.00

For the shoes, I chose these black leather platform heels by Steven Madden. To recreate the look.... well this is awkward.. um put on the shoes... The heels have a pointed toe, similar to the ones in the picture.
Steve Madden Dejavu in black leather $129.95
